Los Angeles, July 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BioCorRx, Inc. (OTCQB: BICX), a leader in addiction treatment and rehabilitation programs, announced it has closed another sale for the exclusive license and distribution rights of its Start Fresh Program to Sobriety and Addictions Solutions, LLC.  Under the terms of the agreement, Sobriety and Addictions Solutions has paid BioCorRx, Inc. an upfront licensing fee and will also pay an upfront fee per program ordered in the state of Ohio.  The closing of the Ohio territory marks the third transaction between Sobriety and Addictions Solutions, LLC and BioCorRx, Inc.  The previous two transactions included the combined areas of Northern California, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C. 

The population of Ohio is just over 11.5 million people and the state is uniquely situated in that it is within only one day's drive of 50% of all of North America's population.  Bringing the Start Fresh Program to Ohio gives hope not only to residents of the state, but to those within driving distance as well.  Ohio recently saw a 24% increase in drunk driving deaths according to MADD and binge drinking rates in the state have been on a steady incline over the last decade. A new study just released by the Centers for Disease Control found that excessive drinking, both regular heavy drinking and occasional binge drinking, cause 1 in 10 deaths of working age adults.  According to the study's findings alcohol abuse is now the third largest preventable cause of death in this age group, which cut an average of 30 years off the lives of those who died.  Ohio has also been a victim of the opiate epidemic that has been grabbing national attention in recent years.  One county saw the number of heroin deaths increase four fold in just a four-year period.
